Operations Manager, Health Law Programs

The O’Neill Institute for National and Global Health Law at Georgetown University Law Center is seeking an established professional to manage its 1) academic and capacity building programs and 2) human resources.

The O’Neill Institute undertakes scholarship, research projects and capacity building to develop innovative solutions to the most pressing national and international health concerns including prevention and control of infectious and non-communicable diseases, health and human rights, and global health governance. In conjunction with Georgetown Law, the O’Neill Institute offers a range of academic and capacity building programs, including LL.M. programs for lawyers seeking specialized training in domestic and international health law, certificate programs, intensive trainings, internships and post-graduate fellowships.

The Role

This full-time position will work under the Director, Health Law Programs and the Associate Director of Finance and Operations to manage the O’Neill Institute’s health law programs and human resources, including:

  • Managing extra-curricular programming for LL.M. students, including academic, career, and social events
  • Developing and managing resources for LL.M. students and O’Neill Institute alumni, including orientation materials and health law-related job postings
  • Managing outreach to and engagement with prospective students, O’Neill Institute alumni, potential employers, and academic and civil society partners
  • Managing recruitment, hiring, visas, and performance review processes for interns, research assistants, post-graduate fellows, and O’Neill Institute staff
Who are we looking for?

To be considered, applicants should have a bachelor’s degree and at least 5 years experience (or equivalent combination of education and experience). This is a unique opportunity for the right person to contribute to the development of the dynamic field of health law. In particular, we are looking for a colleague who is passionate about developing strong and connected teams and networks within the O’Neill Institute and the broader health law community in the United States and globally. Applicants should be flexible and adaptable, enjoy trouble-shooting and detail-oriented tasks, and have excellent people skills. Applicants should have experience in higher education administration and/or human resources and demonstrate capacity to come up to speed quickly in the other area.
