Georgetown University (Profs Rebecca Katz, Larry Gostin & Emily Mendhall) and the University of Edinburgh (Prof Devi Sridhar, Drs Mark Hellowell & Anuj Kaplishrami) invite applications from early career researchers to attend their collaborative workshop ‘Achieving Global Health Security’ to be held in Edinburgh. We especially encourage women and scholars from non-OECD countries to apply. We are seeking early career scholars (students, recent graduates, and post-doctoral researchers) specializing in public health, politics and international relations, anthropology, or law. You must have a demonstrated interest in global health security and exploring the linkages with universal health coverage (UHC) and health system strengthening, and have conducted research in this area. The workshop is free of charge, and catering — but not lodging or travel costs — will be included. You must be able to attend both days.

For more information about Georgetown’s work, please review our website, the O’Neill Institute’s website, and the Global Health Governance Programme’s website.

To apply, please email Ms. Lorna Thompson with the subject [Application for Global Health Security workshop] with your CV and a 250-word statement on (1) your particular interest in global health security and UHC or health system strengthening and (2) your goals for contributing to and participating in the workshop.

For full consideration, please submit your application by 15 January 2018.
