Public health challenges particularly in Africa, are a direct result of the continuing impact of non-communicable and communicable diseases adding to the daunting challenges of health systems strengthening facing the Continent. Thus, the purpose of this year’s forum will be to discuss and share the role that academia, private sector organizations and the Non-governmental community can play in building public health preparedness capacities in Africa.
The purpose of this Forum will be to explore strategies that we can invest in Africa’s health workers, healthcare and social services infrastructure, logistics, surveillance and health information systems. We’re hopeful that the expected outcome of this event will be a Diaspora strategy to include further policy recommendations for the UN & U.S. Administrations and the African Union.
