Jonathan Jay, J.D., M.A., was a law fellow at the O’Neill Institute. He received a law degree and masters in philosophy from Georgetown University and a bachelor’s degree from Brown University.
Before joining the O’Neill Institute, Jon was a bioethicist advising the Division of AIDS at the U.S. National Institutes of Health on ethical issues arising in the conduct of HIV research. Many of these issues surrounded standards of care in international, multi-center studies of HIV prevention and treatment. Jon also serves as affiliated faculty at the Center for Clinical Bioethics at Georgetown University Medical Center.
Jon is primarily interested in the social, ethical and policy issues associated with international public health and clinical research, particularly relating to HIV/AIDS.
