India Haus is a 2022 graduate of the LL.M. in Global Health Law and Governance program.

She is interested in bioethics and reproductive health rights, particularly in relation to international development and human rights. She is also interested in CRISPR technology and how this can be used as artificial reproductive technology. Haus researches how the right to health applies to sexual and reproductive health rights across the globe and what we can do to improve access to health and eliminate social health disparities. 

Haus practiced as a private client and entertainment lawyer in New Zealand before joining the O’Neill Institute for three years. She also served as a U.S. Embassy Youth Council Member for the U.S. Embassy and Consulate New Zealand. She worked as a research intern at the O’Neill Institute before working as a research assistant. Her current work includes working on risk regulation in regards to risky products and NCDs prevention. Haus is also the LL.M. Representative for the Georgetown Health Law Society. 

Haus received her Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) and Bachelor of Commerce (B.Com.) in Management and Marketing from the University of Canterbury, NZ, in 2018. She was admitted to the roll of barristers and solicitors of the High Court of New Zealand in December 2018. Haus is also studying as a global health law scholar towards her International Human Rights Certificate at Georgetown University Law Center.

Haus is a native German and English speaker.
