María Belén Saavedra, Abogada (J.D. equivalent), LL.M., is an Institute Associate at the O’Neill Institute for National and Global Health Law. She holds an Abogada (J.D. equivalent) degree and an LL.M. in Public Litigation and Constitutional Law from Universidad Diego Portales in Santiago, Chile.
Prior to joining the O’Neill Institute, Belén was chair of the board of directors of Amnesty International-Chile, worked for the Ministry of Women and Gender Equality and a private law firm that focused on public law. She has lectured on Ethics, Political Philosophy, Legal Writing, and Constitutional Law at Universidad Diego Portales and conducted research on a range of topics relating to the intersection of constitutional law and human rights.
