María Belén Saavedra is a senior associate with the Health and Human Rights Initiative at the O’Neill Institute.
Prior to joining the O’Neill Institute, Saavedra was chair of the board of directors of Amnesty International-Chile. She has also worked for the Ministry of Women and Gender Equality and a private law firm that focused on public law. Saavedra has lectured on ethics, political philosophy, legal writing, and constitutional law at Universidad Diego Portales and conducted research on a range of topics relating to the intersection of constitutional law and human rights.
She holds an Abogada (J.D. equivalent) degree and an LL.M. in public litigation and constitutional law from Universidad Diego Portales in Santiago, Chile.
