Michael J. Reed-Hurtado is a Colombian/US lawyer and journalist with over 20 years of experience in the human rights and humanitarian fields. His work has focused, amongst others, on: effective criminal prosecution of system crimes; transitional justice; prison conditions and reform; military criminal jurisdiction, and forced displacement, amongst others. He recently completed an extended faculty fellowship at Yale University.
He currently teaches human rights and transitional justice at Georgetown University and NYU Law. He also serves as an adviser to the Office of the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights in Colombia.
