Lawrence Gostin, the director of Georgetown Law’s O’Neill Institute for National & Global Health Law, states in an email that schools “clearly” have the authority to enact a vaccine requirement based on the EEOC’s guidance and on “ethical” grounds. “Students, faculty, and staff have the right to risk their own health but not to risk transmitting a potentially dangerous disease to others,” Gostin writes.
