Efforts to prevent tobacco use are well-intended, but focusing so heavily on e-cigarettes is “a mistake,” said Georgetown Law professor Eric Lindblom, a former Food and Drug Administration tobacco control official. “One of the big tragedies of e-cigarettes is that policy-makers have taken their eye off the ball, and the most important thing is to reduce smoking. The best way to do that is through direct anti-smoking measures.”
