Lawrence Gostin, the director of the O’Neill Institute for National and Global Health Law at Georgetown University, told the Daily Beast that travel to and from the protests would have a significant impact on the potential for outbreaks: “If they’re stopping in restaurants, using public bathrooms, and taking public transportation, all of those things are helping the virus move from one place to another because humans are vectors.”
