Lawrence O. Gostin, director of the O’Neill Institute for National and Global Health Law at Georgetown University, said the FDA was “in one of the saddest and most difficult points in its history” with the federal courts “substituting their judgment of science for the FDA and it goes against every major scientific organization as well as the pharmaceutical industry.”
