Professor Lawrence Gostin joins Altamar to discuss the geopolitics of the global vaccine race – and how countries can mitigate winner-take-all risks. Gostin is the Director of the O’Neill Institute for National and Global Health Law at Georgetown University, where he’s a professor of medicine in addition to his role as a professor of public health at Johns Hopkins University. He is also the Director of the World Health Organization’s Collaborating Center on National and Global Health Law. He has served on many expert advisory committees, including on the Pandemic Influenza Preparedness Framework, and learned first-hand lessons from his work on the 2015 West Africa Ebola epidemic.
