About

The COVID-19 pandemic revealed the undeniable place of multilateralism in public health preparedness and response. To support the legal response and rapid deployment of vaccines, the Center for Transformational Health Law staff supports Gavi, COVAX, the World Bank, and other global institutions to reduce legal barriers and provide country-level legal technical assistance.

Our Work

The Center for Transformational Health Law (CTHL) produces a digest of template statutes, regulations, administrative rules, and decrees that countries may use to facilitate the legal authorization and procurement of vaccines, a checklist of principles for procuring governments and vaccine suppliers, and a catalogue of legal experts prepared to assist countries in the procurement process. In workshops hosted by the World Bank, CTHL researchers have presented analyses of vaccine procurement agreements and how those agreements have evolved throughout the pandemic.
