The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) issued several new analyses and guidance for states and insurers in late March. This includes pass-through funding amounts for states with an approved Section 1332 waiver, form filing instructions, key dates for 2022, guidance on rate review, a permanent extension of grandmothered plans, guidance on recovered cost-sharing reductions (CSRs) in medical loss ratio calculations, and an interim summary report for risk adjustment. CMS also issued guidance in launching a new special enrollment period (SEP) for low-income consumers and a summary of five years of results on the accuracy of insurer provider networks.
