The 2026 World Cup will be a six-week event occurring simultaneously across 16 host cities in North America. In this largest-ever World Cup, the demand for short-term and temporary workers will be unprecedented. Join us for a discussion on opportunities for ensuring fair and safe working conditions, just compensation, and hiring practices for all short-term workers in the tournament.

Topics to be covered will include:

  • Updated information on the planned use of temporary workers and agencies by FIFA,  host city committees, and their contractors

  • Ideas from labor and community stakeholders on how to make 2026 World Cup-related temporary work responsible and high-road

  • Strategies for how organizations can work together across cities on short-term employment issues

The event is organized by the Dignity 2026 Coalition, including Grassroots Law & Organizing for Workers (GLOW), the Center for Community Health Innovation at Georgetown Law, and the AFL-CIO. Please note that the discussion is open to civil society and non-government stakeholders only.
