Public Forum & Opening Reception: Does the Current Intellectual Property System Foster or Hinder Global Economic, Health, and Development Progress?

Today’s global intellectual property regime—a tangle of interlocking national, regional and global agreements—treats expanding exclusive ownership of technologies and literary and artistic works as vital to advancing creativity, economic development and medicines for today’s health needs. Is it working?

This public event brings together leading thinkers and policy advocates from across the ideological spectrum to ask these big questions, including in the context of global negotiations over trade and debates over Trump Administration policies.
