Juan Carlos Orjuela is a student of the 2024-2025 LL.M. in National and Global Health Law. He is originally from Colombia.

Orjuela is interested in pharmaceutical regulation, sustainable and equitable drug access, pharmaceutical policy, drug price regulation, and regulations to prevent noncommunicable diseases.

Before enrolling at Georgetown Law, Orjuela worked for over five years as an associate in the life sciences practice at a leading national law firm. In this role, he defended the safety and efficacy of vaccines, advised on introducing innovative technologies to prevent the transmission of vector-borne diseases, and provided strategic counsel to diverse clients in the pharmaceutical, medical devices, and regulatory compliance across the food and cannabis industries. He also worked at a pharmaceutical company that markets drugs for orphan diseases, where he provided legal and compliance advice.

Orjuela holds a J.D. from Universidad de La Sabana in Colombia and a postgraduate degree in commercial law from Universidad Externado de Colombia.
