Kanika Kalra was a summer intern at the O’Neill Institute for National and Global Health Law.
After working as a research assistant for the Health and Human Rights Initiative at the O’Neill Institute and a Spring 2021 GHI student fellow working with Professor Lawrence Gostin, Kalra is continuing her work at the Institute as an intern during the summer working with the Global Health Policy and Politics Initiative Team. After graduation, Kalra aspires to return back to her home country, India, where she wishes to start her litigation practice in health laws and implement ways of strengthening health systems in India.
Kalra majored in philosophy from Lady Shri Ram College, India, and went on to complete her first degree in law from the Faculty of Law, University of Delhi, India, where she developed a keen interest in the intersection of medical innovations, patents, and law. She is currently a law student at Georgetown University Law Center, where she studies national and global health laws.
