Takudzwanashe Wynne Chinyemba was a 2023 summer intern at the O’Neill Institute.
Prior to O’Neill, Wynne Chinyemba worked as a legal intern at Care At The Core of Humanity (CATCH), which dealt with advocacy for children in conflict with the law by making detention visits and continuous assessments that children’s rights are not infringed. In 2020, he became an executive board member of Trinity Charity Organization, which focuses on upholding the rights of the male children and adults by providing psychosocial support and counseling and advocating for their rights against social stereotypes. He is also an active member of SayWhat, which focuses on sexual and reproductive health rights, and of Zimbabwe Environmental Law Association, which deals with environmental law.
In March 2023, Wynne Chinyemba was awarded a Presidential Award by the President of the Republic of Zimbabwe for being a top outstanding student in the legal fraternity in Zimbabwe.
He has been involved with numerous moot court competitions locally — notably, the International Committee of Red Cross International Humanitarian Law, National Moot Court Competition, Transparency International Zimbabwe National Corruption Moot Court Competition. He has also participated in international competitions, including the KK Luthra International Criminal Law Moot Court Competition (India), PAX Private International Law Moot Court Competition (Belgium), and Manfred Lachs Space Law African Regional Rounds (South Africa).
Wynne Chinyemba is a fourth year LL.B. student at the Zimbabwe Ezekiel Guti University.
