GOSTIN – After months of being cooped up indoors to stop the spread of a deadly virus, hundreds of thousands of Americans have flocked to the streets of US cities over the past 10 days to protest police killings of Black Americans. While many are wearing masks, public health officials worry that the protests may undo the work of curbing Covid-19 infections. Others say the protests are necessary in spite of the pandemic because of the threat of racist and violent policing to public health.
