Addressing the Politicization of U.S. Health Care and Public Health Services
WASHINGTON (June 21, 2018) — The O’Neill Institute for National and Global Health Law hosts a two day symposium addressing controversies and challenges facing the U.S. health care today including legalization of marijuana, gun violence, the opioid epidemic and the Affordable Care Act.
The two-day symposium “Public Health Law on the Frontlines: Addressing Law & Policy Challenges to State/Local Innovations” runs Thurs., June 21 through Fri. June 22 at the Georgetown University Law Center.
Politicization of U.S. health care and public health services contributes to major shifts in laws and policies following changes in federal or state administrations, challenging public health and health care systems. This program explores many legal themes impacting state and local health innovations to assess strategies and objectives to promote individual and communal health.
