The Supreme Court’s decision to take up the lawsuit as soon as this year could make that more difficult since the administration will have to file briefs this summer, said Katie Keith, an associate research professor at Georgetown University’s Center on Health Insurance Reforms who blogs about the health care law. “At a time that Republicans are going to want to focus on Medicare for All or something else, I think it’ll thrust the ACA and preexisting conditions back into the spotlight,” she said.
