November 12, 2008
The Fogarty International Center (FIC) at the National Institutes of Health is celebrating its fortieth anniversary in 2008. In honor of this anniversary, the O’Neill Institute partnered with FIC and the Office of Georgetown University President Jack DeGioia to plan a major keystone event entitled “The Role of Science in Advancing Global Health Diplomacy.” This one-day event, held on November 12, 2008, consisted of multiple sessions and involved the participation of an interdisciplinary group of experts from scientists and physicians to government policy makers, academics, and representatives from major NGOs, IGOs, funding agencies, and field practitioners.
