Washington, D.C. — The O’Neill Institute for National and Global Health Law, a leading health policy think tank in the world, is pleased to announce that esteemed human rights lawyer Sarah L. Bosha will transition from her role as the director of the capacity building initiative to join the Center for Global Health Politics and Policy. As director of legal research and human rights for the Center, Bosha will focus on legal research and advocacy on HIV/AIDS, sexual and reproductive health and rights, and health equity.

Bosha has spent her career advocating for the justiciability of the right to health, through advocacy and strategic impact litigation. Most recently, she appeared as amicus curiae in the matter, Centre for Human Rights and others v. United Republic of Tanzania, before the African Court of Human and Peoples Rights, where she provided oral submissions on the right to health. Bosha also champions work on climate change and health in partnership with grassroots organizations working to advance the health rights of persons with albinism in Africa.

At the Center for Global Health Policy and Politics, a partnership between the O’Neill Institute and Georgetown University’s School of Health, Bosha will bring new expertise to the work of the HIV Policy Lab, new projects on sexual and reproductive health, and continue her work with the O’Neill Lancet Commission on Racism, Structural Discrimination and Global Health.
