Preserving small businesses, affordable housing, community spaces, and other amenities for immigrant communities in Chinatowns and other cultural enclaves.
About
Chinatowns — and other places where immigrants or communities of color have settled in the United States — have been shrinking for decades due to pressures from development, increasing rent prices, changing immigration patterns, and many other factors.
In D.C., the Center for Community Health Innovation provides legislative and policy guidance to the D.C. Council to promote socioeconomic development in D.C. Chinatown. Nationally, we are supporting an emerging community of practice to stabilize and sustain the cultural and socioeconomic development of Chinatowns and other cultural enclaves.
