Please join the O’Neill Institute on Wednesday, November 6, from 1:20 – 3:20 p.m. ET for an illuminating panel discussion of the 2024 Colloquium Series titled “An Emerging New Crisis?: Lung Health in the 21st Century.”

Several factors drive the public health conversation about lung health in the 21st century, including the continued and prevalent use of tobacco, the rise of vaping and electronic smoking technology, the questions around cannabis that challenge stigmas and biases, and the adverse effects of climate change. Leading public health, environmental science, and medicine experts will examine emerging trends, evaluate current law and policy interventions, and discuss strategies for tackling the multifaceted threats to lung health.

Speakers:

  • Matt Myers, President Emeritus, Campaign for Tobacco-Free Kids
  • Dr. Malik Burnett, Medical Director, REACH Health Services; Addiction Medicine Physician, University of Maryland
  • Dr. Colin Carlson, Assistant Professor of Epidemiology, Yale School of Public Health
