On October 13, 2023, the O’Neill-Lancet Commission on Racism, Structural Discrimination and Global Health hosted a virtual conversation, “Decolonizing Harm Reduction: Advancing Equity in Drug Control and Policy,” that was moderated by Sarah Bosha, O’Neill Institute Capacity Building Initiative Director. At the session, panelists discussed measures, policies, strategies, and actions needed to advance equity in drug policy and harm reduction. Speakers included:

  • Colleen Daniels – Deputy Director, Harm Reduction International
  • Dr. Cornelia (Nel) Wieman – Acting Chief Medical Officer, First Nations Health Authority
  • Dr. Tlaleng Mofokeng – UN Special Rapporteur on the Right to Health, and Co-Chair, O’Neill-Lancet Commission on Racism, Structural Discrimination, and Global Health
