Reproductive health, rights and justice experts will examine how mis- and disinformation are reshaping the sexual and reproductive health landscape in the United States. Mis- and disinformation are now driving judicial outcomes, influencing legislation, and distorting public understanding of essential reproductive health services. Our speakers will contextualize how these dynamics undermine evidence-based governance and destabilize core democratic functions by substituting ideology for fact, ultimately threatening access to contraception and abortion for millions across the country – and the world. They will surface what is at stake for healthcare providers, policymakers, patients, and the public, spotlighting the urgent need for coordinated strategies to protect evidence-based care in an environment increasingly saturated with junk science.
The webinar will offer insights to help participants navigate information systems compromised by mis- and disinformation, while providing guidance for stakeholders across the sexual and reproductive health and rights ecosystem and the public on defending science-backed practices and protecting access in today’s tenuous reproductive health landscape.
