Naloxone Training Event Graphic

In 2023, more than 100,000 people died from an overdose, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. In Washington, D.C. alone, 521 people died from an opioid-related overdose in the same year. In 2022, DC had the second-highest overdose death rate.

August 31 is International Overdose Awareness Day, a time to remember those we’ve lost and take action to prevent more overdoses.

In response, the O’Neill Institute’s Addiction and Public Policy Initiative, in partnership with the Hoya DOPE Project at Georgetown University School of Medicine, is hosting a naloxone training and distribution session.

Date: Wednesday, August 28, 2024
Time: 10 – 10:45 a.m. ET
Location: Georgetown Law Gewirz Student Center (120 F St NW, Washington, D.C. 20001)
