Brian Honermann, J.D. was an Institute Associate. Previously, he was a law fellow. He holds a J.D. from Fordham University and a bachelor’s degree from the University of Wisconsin – Madison.
Prior to joining the O’Neill Institute, he spent three years working for SECTION27, incorporating the AIDS Law Project in Johannesburg, South Africa. There, he focused primarily on health law and policy in the country and served on litigation teams challenging discriminatory policies against people living with HIV. He also co-taught classes on HIV/AIDS and the Law at the University of the Witwatersrand.
Brian is interested in global health law, health budgeting and financing and in strengthening public and private health systems to achieve the right of access to health care.
