Jackson Women’s Health Organization, which rejected nearly 50 years of precedent in holding that women (and other people who can become pregnant) no longer have a constitutionally protected right to a pre-viability abortion. Dobbs paved the way for states to outlaw or further restrict abortion, leading to a severe patchwork of rights and protections that will vary by state.
