COVID-19 Law Lab
“Strong legal frameworks are critical for national COVID-19 responses, [and a] strong foundation of law for health is more important now than ever before.”
– Dr. Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, Director-General, World Health Organization, reflecting on the COVID Law LabOn Wednesday, July 22, the O’Neill Institute launched the COVID-19 Law Lab with the UNDP, WHO, and UNAIDS. The initiative is a database that compiles country-level laws implemented in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. Launching with laws from over 190 countries, this database will continue to grow as more countries and themes are added. Countries can use the COVID-19 Law Lab to assess how laws impact human rights and identify best practices to guide their COVID-19 responses and socioeconomic recovery efforts.
