The O’Neill Institute for National & Global Health Law at Georgetown University Law Center is seeking an Associate for the Center for HIV and Infectious Disease Policy (CHIDP).
The associate will work on a team with other CHIDP staff, and work closely with and interact regularly with external advisory boards and diverse stakeholders, including people living with HIV, community-based services providers, health care providers, researchers, and government policymakers to examine priority policy issues, create forums for robust dialogue to consider complex issues and identify actionable policy solutions. The Associate must be able to lead projects and work independently and will both assist with or independently write and prepare policy briefs and in some cases peer-reviewed publications.
The associate will report to and work with the CHIDP director. They also will work collaboratively with the associate director, other CHIDP staff and fellows, as well as the institute executive director and other institute staff. Position includes engagement with and relationship management of external partners and stakeholders. It also includes some supervision of fellows, research assistants (RAs), and student research on relevant topics.
The associate will have a hybrid work model that supports a blend of in-office (work out of the O’Neill Institute’s offices on the Georgetown University Law Center campus in Washington, D.C.) and telework. Primarily Responsibilities:
- Legal and policy research related to a diverse range of HIV, sexual health, infectious diseases, and other topics, with a particular emphasis on policy issues related to improving HIV prevention, treatment, and quality of life outcomes. This includes writing, editing, and assisting with the preparation of Institute publications, as well as peer-reviewed journal articles
- Project management to support CHIDP projects
- Attending Institute-sponsored and other policy events and networking with internal and external partners
- Providing some administrative and logistical support for project convenings (typically held in-person at Georgetown Law)
- While the focus of the position is on assisting with funded activities, we encourage the Associate to develop and pursue their own interests related to the Infectious Disease Initiative, and we seek to support broader efforts at professional development related to domestic and global policy issues
Who Are We Looking For?
- At least 4 years of health law and/or health policy experience, with relevant experience related to HIV and related infectious diseases
- MPH with relevant training in epidemiology and translating research to policy OR JD or JD equivalent is preferred
- Individual capable of contributing to a team yet also able to work independently
- Good writer and interest in writing and refining materials for a variety of audiences
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to work with modest supervision
- Exceptional attention to detail and the ability to prioritize, handle multiple tasks, and meet tight deadlines
- Outstanding interpersonal skills, including the ability to work as part of a team and to interact successfully with a variety of personalities
- Professionalism and flexibility amid competing priorities in a fast-paced, multi-need, and results-driven environment
- Prior experience or demonstrated commitment to communities heavily impacted by HIV and other infectious conditions, including racial, ethnic, sexual, and gender minorities, is preferred
- Expertise related to the U.S. health care financing system (including Medicaid, Medicare, and the Ryan White HIV/AIDS Program), high-impact prevention, and/or HV research is preferred.

Communications and Events Coordinator
The O’Neill Institute for National and Global Health Law at Georgetown Law is seeking an energetic and detail-oriented communications and events coordinator to support event planning and execution; content creation and distribution across a range of platforms; and outreach activities that build brand awareness.
The communications and events coordinator will have a hybrid work model that supports a blend of in-office (work out of the O’Neill Institute’s offices on the Georgetown Law campus in Washington, D.C.) and telework. The communications and events coordinator will receive a competitive salary, outstanding benefits, and terrific colleagues.
Primary Responsibilities:
Event Planning and Execution (35%)
- Help support logistics for virtual events, such as prep calls and hosting webinars
- Develop and manage event registration forms
- Support on creation of run-of-show documents
- Assist with lodging logistics, such as booking room reservations
- Provide on-site event support and troubleshooting
- Maintain events calendar
- Organize on-campus booking of event spaces
- Provide support with catering arrangements
Expense Management (20%)
- Track event expenses
- Reconcile expenses and process invoices
- Other financial duties as assigned
Communications and Marketing (35%)
- Assist with email list and reporter list building and maintenance
- Support on the creation of social content and outward-facing communications materials
- Keep the pulse on health law issues by engaging in media monitoring and social listening
- Assist with media-related research
- Support on edits and updates to the website
- Provide editing, proofreading, and quality assurance as needed
- Participate in brainstorms and content ideation
Admin (10%)
- Help manage inventory and ordering of swag and event collateral
- Work on ad-hoc projects as needed
Who Are We Looking For?

Digital Marketing Associate
The O’Neill Institute for National and Global Health Law at Georgetown University Law Center is seeking a creative storyteller with a deep understanding of social media platforms and trends, a knack for data analytics, and a passion for advancing health justice.
The digital marketing associate will create and implement data-driven strategies for social media marketing campaigns that will help increase engagement and expand audience reach. The digital marketing associate will serve as O’Neill’s social media expert and web content lead, leading on all day-to-day social media activities, including analytics and reporting. This position will report directly to the director of strategic communications.
The digital marketing associate will have a hybrid work model that supports a blend of in-office (work out of the O’Neill Institute’s offices on the Georgetown University Law Center campus in Washington, D.C) and telework. The digital marketing associate will receive a competitive salary and outstanding benefits.
Primary Responsibilities:
Social Media (65%)
- Manage O’Neill’s social media accounts, including content and short-form video creation, content publication, community management, social listening, and live event coverage (occasionally during off-hours)
- Create and implement creative strategies for current and new social media accounts, including paid ads campaigns
- Identify and segment target audiences using market research and customer insights to optimize messaging and campaign performance
- Design, execute, and analyze A/B tests to optimize messaging,
- Oversee social media analytics and reporting
- Analyze, evaluate, and present campaign performance data to relevant internal stakeholders
- Provide social media counsel to O’Neill leaders to help elevate their profiles
- Support brand manager in developing and managing creative assets
- Act as in-house expert on social trends, platforms, and tools
Website (30%)
- Manage content updates to site
- Monitor website traffic and KPIs
- Oversee website analytics and reporting to internal stakeholders
- Manage the overall websites and site analytics. Implement tools necessary to increase sites’ efficiency, reach, overall traffic, and search engine optimization
- In the next twelve months, the O’Neill Institute plans to overhaul its main website, and this position will be heavily involved in all activity tied to this important project
Other (5%)
- Work closely with our communications manager to strategically disseminate event information across multiple channels
- Assist with day-of event setup, troubleshooting, and breakdown for all events as needed
- Contribute ideas or content to elevate the work of the institute
- Assist with administrative and office operations tasks as assigned
Who Are We Looking For?
The digital marketing manager will have three to five of experience in social media and digital marketing, ideally with a nonprofit or academic institution background.
Required
- Advanced knowledge and understanding of popular social media platforms, including Instagram, LinkedIn, Twitter/X, Reddit, and YouTube
- Strong experience with Canva
- Strong experience with social media management tools
- Experience in WordPress and Google Analytics

Senior Events Manager
The O’Neill Institute for National and Global Health Law at Georgetown Law is seeking a highly experienced senior events manager to plan, execute, and evaluate in-person and virtual events that are in service of the Institute’s mission and vision.
The senior events manager will receive a competitive salary, outstanding benefits, and terrific colleagues. This position reports to the director of strategic communications and will work closely with center and initiative directors as well as the senior leadership of the O’Neill Institute. The senior events manager will develop event budgets, reporting, and analysis. Experience and or comfort working within an international environment is preferred, including managing events in non-English speaking countries and contexts.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Lead on designing, executing, and evaluating in-person, virtual, and hybrid events
- Develop event timelines, project plans, and logistical details to ensure smooth execution
- Manage event budgets, including expense tracking
- Manage relationships with event vendors and partners across Georgetown campuses and beyond
- Provide strategic event guidance to Institute leadership
- Coordinate event logistics, including venue selection, catering, and AV
- Assist with event marketing and promotion
- Provide on-site event support and troubleshooting
- Mentor and support the O’Neill Institute’s events associate
